Three Fairfield residents and a Tracy man were killed New Year's Eve in a head-on collision on state Highway 12 east of the Sacramento/San Joaquin county line, the California Highway Patrol said.

The dead were identified as Siara R. Biddle, 23, Tierra M. Anderson, 28, and Raphael A. Hill, 31, all of Fairfield, and Razek Azizi, 42, of Tracy.

Biddle was driving a 2002 Hyundai west on Highway 12 around 9 p.m. when it collided with a 2012 Toyota driven east on Highway 12 by Azizi, the CHP said. Anderson and Hill were passengers in Biddle's car.

The Hyundai was found on its roof in a ditch south of Highway 12 and the Toyota was found straddling the eastbound and westbound lanes of the highway, the CHP said.

Both vehicles sustained major front-end damage consistent with a head-on collision, and all four were pronounced dead at the scene. None of them were ejected from the vehicles, the CHP said.

The collision closed Highway 12 for three and a half hours. The cause of the crash is under investigation, and it's unknown if alcohol was a factor, the CHP said.
