Real is a FIGHTER, and a strong man - so his family and friends are HOPEFUL that he will be able to make a full recovery. But he definitely needs all of our prayers.

Aw this makes me sad. I really liked them on their show and new yorks. I hope he pulls through but everyone should make sure to always get checked for things. He's a little young for colon cancer though, I think a lot of doctors advise getting checked regularly for it around 40ish. Not saying it doesn't happen obviously
Yeah my dad also died from a similar type of cancer, it is preventable if found early. Please black men get checked out if not for yourself then for your loved ones. As a result me and my mother go get checked I have remained clear, and mom has had a few polyps removed preventing further growth, All praise be to Jesus. Katie Couric's husband also died from this type of cancer. So definitely stay on top of your health.
I'm not saying it's a lie but I just burried my mom and she had stage four uterine cancer. After radiation because she was too far gone for chemo, my mom had no hair. How does he still have hair? I need more proof on this one. I thought these guys parents were wealthy? Anyway I need more proof before I help. After what happened to my mom, I am willing to donate to anyone that is fighting this, plus real and chance were her boys.

I always liked Chance and Real but he will move onto the next life unless God has a plan for him to continue living but Stage 4 is the stage when the cancer has spread to other organs but I know a lady who is a friend of my mom's that has been in stage 4 for the last 18 months so you never know....
@ashr21 exactly! Basically according to the American Cancer Society the recommended age for your first/initial colonoscopy (which is the gold standard for colon cancer screening) is 50. But multitudes of published literature recommend that the age should be lowered to about 40 to 45 years old in hopes of earlier detection, especially in groups of those with higher risk factors to include: of black race, family history etc. Its sad nonetheless. And cancer treatment is costly, even if one is fully insured, especially if you do not have supplemental cancer treatment insurance. people obviously need to get their priorties in order, because you know not the day nor the hour.
Wow, wasn't expecting to read this. I wonder does colon cancer run in his family? Usually people over 50 get screened for that. My mom just got screened recently, and than God she's ok. But 4 four doesn't sound good at all. I'll be praying for Real. I lost an aunt to stage 4 lung cancer a few yrs ago, so it definitely ain't no joke. And I agree that VH-1 should cover the costs.

This is such sad news and I know what he and his family are going through! My father had Stage 4 colon cancer and he fought like a beast, but unfortunately he died 2 years after his diagnosis. I would suggest trying The Cancer Treatment Centers of America because they are great with colon cancer. They can prolong his life with various therapies for his overall health. Unfortunately, I didn't know about them when my dad had it. Real and his family are in my prayers! I also hope that VH1 can contribute to help with the medical bills since they had a #1 show in their network!!!!
Stage 4? He doesn't look like he has stage 4 cancer. Cancer is eating up his body and he hasn't lost weight? He looks too healthy to be suffering from Stage 4. Ion't know yall. I hope this is not some ploy to get quick money from people stupid enough to donate. How much $$ have they made from those TV shows? And they're asking the public for help with medical bills? I'm very sorry to hear this and my prayers go out to him and his family! To the people who think this is a scam-look back at the picture, his brothers are wearing gloves just to touch their brother. Usually people are told to do this when someone is under neutropenic precautions, which means he has a low white blood cell count and his immune system is compromised due to his illness and the drugs. Faking neutropenic precautions is not something the average person knows how to fake. And sometimes I tell family members to wear sun glasses around their dying loved one, so that their loved one won't see them crying or see that sadness in their eyes. Sad. I made an account just to comment on this post, I usually just read the stories but I had to wish them well.
Stage 4 is terminal. He probably didnt want treatment because it WOULD cause him to lose his hair. I read that a Dr was curing stage 4 colon cancer with baking soda. Baking soda elevates the bodies pH which destroys tumors and cancer cells. It's most effective in cancers of the GI Tract because the baking soda comes in direct contact with the tumor. Colon cancer is almost always caused by an overgrowth of yeast in the gut which is almost always caused by taking ANTIBIOTICS. Look up the baking soda cancer protocol.

The first thing I noticed were the sterile gloves .Cancer patients in certain stages have to have sterile environments because their immune systems are weak and I knew they had those shades on to cover the sadness they have for their brother which should be obvious but then again "common sense is NOT common"....
I even see where one idiot stated that Real probably has "sickle cell" but says he has cancer because it's "more glamorous"!!! There is nothing glamorous about any illness but it shows you the mindset some have.....

Stage 4 Colon Cancer?! Clinical or pathological? It matters. Pathological Stage 4 means they went in, took a slice, and put it under a microscope.
He looks Clinical Stage 4 in this pic ^ about to go into surgery to confirm.

If you have this kind of cancer it is likely it runs in the family. Black people really need to start eating differently. More vegetables, fruit, limit sugars and processed fried foods. I know it is easier to say than to do, especially because in many urban neighborhoods the nearest grocery store, farmers market etc is miles away. Many people don't have transportation to get to these places and rely on corner store "grocery" and fast food. But Black people need to do all they can to eat healthier and de-stress. Meditate. Practice deep breathing exercises. Practice some type of physical fitness ie. yoga, cardio, weights, walking, resistance etc. Prayers for this gentleman and his family and all those suffering from any disease.

@TheRose - You are so right. Crazy, I was just talking about this earlier with some of my classmates. If you watch those *** like, 'Fat Sick and Nearly Dead' or 'Forks Over Knives', they talk about all of this stuff. I keep saying I'm gonna try to wean myself off of meat and sugar. Smh. I have to do better. This lets you know that you can't wait until you are "middle age" to start caring. You have to start while you are young. Smh.

I just knew it was Real and not Chance. For some reason I just knew it would be him. Well that's real sad and shocking. I loved their show and I like both of em. I agree with those that say Vh1 should give a donation. Ish they should pay for the whole thing. But at least donate. My girl NY should donate too.
Wow i never realized how many uneducated, and really ignorant people there are out there. If he is just finding out that he is stage 4, he probably hasn't undergone Chemo yet which is why his hair hasn't fallen out yet. At the time of the original post he had only found out 6 days ago and he had lost 15 pounds. Sometimes you have no symptoms until the very end and then sometimes you lose weight very fast. If he is indeed stage 4 then he probably doesn't have long. My prayers go out to him and his family. I pray for the people on here as well making uneducated, rude and ignorant comments. Forgive them for they know not what they do (ignorance) Do a little cancer research first...Reading is still fundamental!!
